Sometimes I lie awake at night and I ask, “Is life a multiple choice test or is it a true or false test?” Then a voice comes to me out of the dark and says, “We hate to tell you this but life is a thousand word essay. ——Charles M. Schulz
But I don’t believe that life is supposed to make you feel good, or to make you feel miserable either. Life is just supposed to make you feel. ——Gloria Naylor (via larmoyante)

The good times and the bad times both will pass. It will pass. It will get easier. But the fact that it will get easier does not mean that it doesn’t hurt now. And when people try to minimize your pain they are doing you a disservice. And when you try to minimize your own pain you’re doing yourself a disservice. Don’t do that. The truth is that it hurts because it’s real. It hurts because it mattered. And that’s an important thing to acknowledge to yourself. But that doesn’t mean that it won’t end, that it won’t get better. Because it will. ——John Green

I get up every morning and go to bed every night, with this feeling that something is missing, but I don’t know what and I don’t know why. This emptiness is just killing me, and I can’t do anything, not even cry.
I sometimes pretend to be happy, talking a lot and laughing out loud so that nobody would know what’s really inside. But at the end of the day, I always find myself all alone, encountering the crucial truth that I’m too broken inside that not even a million laughter can take it away.
I love that moment. When you’re on a long car ride, or listening to music, or reading. And you completely zone out. You forget your troubles, and everyone around you. You’re focused on that one thing, and that one thing only. You’re content, and everything seems peaceful. ——Unknown
